In a notable shift from bureaucracy to politics, a distinguished former IAS officer and former chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh, renowned for his illustrious 38-year career, Alok Ranjan, has embarked on a new chapter in public service. Graduating from the esteemed Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, his decision to contest the Rajya Sabha election under the Samajwadi Party banner marks a significant milestone in his journey.
Amidst anticipation, the retired bureaucrat officially filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha seat on Tuesday, outlining his vision for national policy reforms and inclusive development.
Prior to his political debut, he held pivotal roles, including chief adviser to the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and chairman of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC), showcasing his governance and administrative prowess.
