Allegations leveled against Amit Shah's son politically motivated, claims State BJP

The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party came on the defence of Amit Shah saying the allegations leveled against his son by a web portal are politically motivated and are leveled to malign BJP and its national president.

Urban Development Minister Suresh Khanna, Government spokesman and Health Minister Sidharthnath Singh and party’s general secretary Vijay Bahadur pathak held the fort for the party saying Congress should first clarify its stand on son-in law of national president of Congress Sonia Gandhi before raising a finger at Shah’s son.

“The allegations are leveled with an intention to malign the image of the party. It is unfortunate that a national party like Congress cannot differentiate between turnover and profit. Any person who knows basic of economics cannot raise a finger at Jay Shah (Amit Shah’s son),” Sidharthnath said while addressing reporters here on Monday.

A web news portal had alleged that profit of a company owned by Jay Shah has increased 1600 times after 2014. It alleged transactions in last few years. Congress has demanded a probe while BJP’s senior leader and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had called the allgeti0ns as false.

Urban Development Minister Suresh Khanna said that the portal implicated Jay Shah only because he is son of Amit Shah. This is done just before Gujarat elections because Congress is looking for toe-hold in that region. “Congress should have consulted a CA before leveling allegations against the BJP national president and his son,” he said.

BJP general secretary Vijay Bahaduir Pathak said that Shah is going to file a defamation case against the portal and this justifies that he is clean. He questioned Congress leaders’ defence on implication of Sonia Gandhi in National Herald case saying if she is innocent she should file defamation case.

When asked by BJP leaders are defending Amit Shah’s son when allegations are of personal nature and Pathak said Amit Shah is head of BJP family. “If one maligns the image of the family other members are within their right to defend them,” he said.
