Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati targeted the ruling Samajwadi Party pointing out that when lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court has refused to give any relief to Daya Shankar Singh, then why was the government waiting to arrest the BJP leader.
In a statement issued in lucknow soon after the HC verdict on Thursday afternoon, Mayawati said that now the state government should work as per the law and stop colluding with the BJP.
Referring to the protest by BJP's women wing in lucknow on Thursday for the arrest of BSP leader Naseemudeen Siddiqui, she said, "There were several leders at the protest that day. Why is BJP's frontal outfit only asking for the arrest of Siddiqui IJ Does this not show that the BJP wants to communalise the issue," she querried.
Terming the protest by Bhartiya Janata Mahila Morcha on Thusrday as a failure, Mayawati said that only around 500 men and women participated in the so called state-level demonstration.
