All dists of UP to have drug warehouse

To ensure the availability of medicines in every district of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has directed officials concerned to set up a drug warehouse in each of the 75 districts so that it could further improve medical facilities at the ground level.

“The Health department has prepared an action plan under which new schemes will be implemented. In the coming two years, 25 drug warehouses will be inaugurated in eight districts of UP namely Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Gonda, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, and Sambhal.

Director General Medical Education (DGME) Dr NC Prajapati said these drug warehouses would be controlled by Lucknow and the supply of medicines to the district drug warehouse would be maintained directly by the D-G office in the state capital.

“This will ensure availability of medicines at village level and distribution of the same among primary health centres (PHCs) in a transparent manner,” he said.
