AKY slams govt for imposing arbitrary policy decisions

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party government of imposing arbitrary policy decisions on the people without consultations with the stakeholders, leading to violence and unrest in society.

“It appears that the popular concepts of democracy like consultation, consensus and collective decisions do not exist in the political dictionary of the BJP, resulting in arbitrary policy decisions by the BJP government at the Centre,” the SP chief said here on Saturday.

He added, “Even as the people are reeling under the impact of galloping inflation and bulldozer, the new recruitment scheme Agnipath for the armed forces has dealt a severe blow to the unemployed youth of the country.”

Reverting to his pet subject of development works during the Samajwadi Party regime, the SP chief said, “The Yogi Adityanath government has only changed the names of the projects and development works undertaken during his government from 2012-2017. The BJP government has ruined many of the schemes initiated during my tenure as chief minister of UP.”

The SP chief alleged that the BJP government in UP had left no stone unturned to malign the image of the state. “UP is on top in human rights violation and custodial deaths, police stations have become dens of corruption,” he alleged.

Akhilesh Yadav said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had delusions about the popularity of his government as he was not aware of the unsavory activities of his cabinet colleagues and MLAs.

The SP chief alleged that jungle raj was prevailing in UP and girls and women were most insecure. He said the scared schoolgirls fearing molestation had stopped going to schools and no action had so far been taken by the police even after two weeks of complaint. He alleged that the home guard allegedly raped a school girl while a girl in Auraiya committed suicide after harassment by anti-social elements.
