Akhilesh Yadav made surprise calls to several senior police officers

Under attack from Opposition parties over deteriorating law and order issue in the state, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav made surprise calls to several senior police officers and checked their locations.
“The Chief Minister called officers of SPs of Deoria, Gonda and Kushinagar to check their location”, an official spokesman of the government said here.
During the calls made by the CM, while SPs of Gonda and Kushingar were found in their offices, SP Deoria was not present as he had gone to Allahabad, in connection with some official work at High Court, he said.
Akhilesh Yadav has directed all the district magistrates and police chiefs to remain in their offices between 10 am to 12 noon to hear grievances of the people. He said that the performance of the officers would be judged by the number of people he met and how many complaints have been disposed off by him. He warned that those officers who would overlook the people and would not heard their grievances, will be dealt with tough hands.
