As the state is battling to control spread of dengue and encephalitis Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked all the nodal officers to inspect state-run hospitals and submit their report to the government within 15 days.
“The appointed nodal officers of each district should inspect hospitals and review its preparedness to counter spread of contagious disease and other vector borne diseases like dengue and encephalitis,” Yadav said while reviewing the working of Health department here on Friday.
He said that all the officers should collect photographic evidences and if need be action should be taken against the erring officers.
“It is mandatory for District Magistrates to see that medicines are made available in the hospitals. The doctors should report on time and an awareness campaign should be launched in each district about dengue and its prevention,” Yadav told officers.
When his attention was drawn towards lack of paramedics he asked officials to start recruitment of staff nurses and other paramedic staff. “Absence of nurse affects the working in hospitals. The Government is committed to provide best medicines free of cost to the patients,” he said and directed CMOs and Chief Medical Superintendent to take action against those doctors and paramedics who play truant.
He gave directives that OPDs should run effectively. The CMOs should ensure that doctors attend their OPDs regularly so that patients should not suffer.
Chief Minister also reviewed the working of ambulance services. “The 102 and 108 services are the backbone of any health service. The ambulance should reach a patient within 20 minutes. Once the patient is brought to hospital his chances of survival goes up,” he said.
“The Government is doing enough to improve the healthcare facilities in the state. Pathological tests including X-rays and ultra sound facilities are free of cost. New trauma centres have been built and these should be made operational,” he said.
