Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav alleged that Bharatiya Janta Party has lost its sheen after winning the lok Sabha polls and hence it was raking up 'love Jehad' to create communal polarisation.

"Voters know the real face of the BJP and they have come out in big numbers to support the Samajwadi Party candidates in Mainpuri and other assembly seats where by-elections are being held on Saturday,"Yadav said after casting his vote in Saifai, his native place along with his MP wife Dimple and other members of the family, on Saturday morning. Saifai, comes under the Mainpuri lok Sabha seat.  He said the BJP has only ditched people in the name of 'Achche Din' and did nothing to end the miseries of the masses.

"There was no effort to control the prices of essential goods and there is constant threat on the international borders," he said while alleging that within 100 days in power, the government did nothing. PWD Minister, Shivpal Singh Yadav, uncle of the Chief Minister, also voted in Saifai. He told reporters that people will teach a lesson to the BJP this time and they would not be able to repeat their lok Sabha feat.  "The SP government in the state has always cared for the

people and has fulfilled all the promises made during the 2012 assembly elections. But on the other hand, the BJP has failed to fulfill any of its promises," he alleged. SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav and Badaun MP Dharmendra Yadav too voted in Saifai and claimed that the SP candidates will win in this by-elections. SP candidate from Mainpuri, Tej Pratap Singh, also grandnephew of Mulayam Singh Yadav, expressed confidence in retaining the seat with a large margin.

Meanwhile, SP spokesman, Rajendra Chowdhary said that people of the state had voted for victory of SP candidates in all the 12 seats which included Mainpuri Parliamentary seat. He said that the SP had many achievements which had boosted it prospect for winning all the seats but the BJP is on the receiving end as they failed to even fulfill the promises made during campaign in last Parliament elections.

State president of Bharatiya Janta Party, laxmi Kant Bajpai, too claimed victory in the all the 11 seats along with one Parliament seat. He said that the Party would end the dynastic rule of the Yadav’s family in Mainpuri by defeating Mulayam’s kin by a huge margin. ``Mainpuri elections would turned out to be `water-loo’ of SP’s politics”, asserted Bajpai. He also thanked public for voting in large number in favour of Party candidates across the state.

Congress President, Dr Nirmal Khatri, whose Party is just contesting Assembly by-elections and had supported Samajwadi Party in Mainpuri, too claimed of a come back of the Party in the state. ``We are sure to get some seats and results would show that the people were unnecessarily write us off and that Congress is the only Party which could give good governance in which people of all caste and religions could live together happily and prosper”, Kharti said that while adding that they had done very well in the polls and were going to win the elections. He also thanked the people for coming out in large number and using their democratic right particularly in a peaceful atmosphere.
