Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav turned 45 on Saturday. His party organized arrays of event at the state office of the party and the district headquarters to celebrate the event. This is the first birthday of Akhilesh Yadav after the Samajwadi party was routed in state assembly elect5ions held in March. SP had contested the elections in alliance with the Rahul Gandhi led Congress with the punch line ``UP Ko ladkon kaa saath pasand hai’’. The electorate however rejected both the political boys and the tally of the Samajwadi Party was reduced to 47 from 231 in 2012.
The enthusiastic workers cut the cake, distributed sweets and fruits to the patients in hospitals. The party leaders in Uttar Pradesh have organized a grand function here at the state office of the party to celebrate the occasion. Akhilesh Yadav was not in the town as he is in london along with his family.
Earlier this week the birthday of the Samajwadi party general secretary and Rajya Sabha leader Ram Gopal Yadav was celebrated in a lavish manner at Sefai, in Etwah district. Senior Samajwadi party leaders, MlAs, MPs and organizational leaders had visited Sefai to congratulate the SP leader, credited to be brain behind the rise of Akhilesh Yadav as the national president of the party in January this year. He said the rank and file of the party expressed their firm resolve that they will continue their fight for the socialism, secularism and social justice.
Rajendra Choudhury said that youth leaders of the party also donated blood. The blood was handed over to the lohia hospital. He said in Rampur, senior party leader Azam Khan led the blood donation and 45 persons donated the blood in special camp organized by the party. He said several leaders of the party had fanned out to other district headquarters for supervising the birthday celebrations,
The leader of opposition in State legislative council Ahmed Hasan was in Gutam Buddh nagar district where the birthday celebrations were organized on grand scale. In lucknow, Samajwadi Party Yuvjan Sabha organized Havan at the Hanuman temple in Hazratganj and also organized a Bhandara.
Senior Samajwadi party leader and warring uncle of Akhilesh Yadav was conspicuous by his absence at the state office of the party. There was no birthday wish message from Shivpal Yadafv for Akhilesh Yadav. He however said in a statement that he was willing to bury the hatchet with Akhilesh Yadav provided he steps down from the post of the national president of the party.
Shivpal Yadav said that he is not seeking any post for himself but fighting for restoring the honour of the `Netaji’ (Mulayam, Singh Yadav. He said Akhilesh Yadav should honour the promise he had made min January this year that he would restore the post of party national president to Mulayam Singh Yadav after the assembly elections. Shivpal Yadav said four months have passed and Akhilesh Yadav has not spoken a word about demitting the office of the party’s national president.
