Akhilesh targets CM on law and order in state

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav targeted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the law and order in the state. The former CM minister on Tuesday visited the family of the slain trader in Sitapur.

Trader Sunil Jaiswal along with his wife and son were killed by unidentified assailants on June 6. The trader’s daughter is a final year student at UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences, Sefai (Etawah). Students of the institute had met the SP chief at Sefai last week and demanded his intervention seeking a probe by the CBI into the ghastly killing. “The murder of Sunil Jaiswal, his son and wife was a very tragic incident. Targeting of traders by criminals with the intent of loot and dacoity, have become order of the day in UP ever since the BJP came to power in the state,’’ said Akhilesh. Targeting the Yogi regime for the slide in law and order, Akhilesh said, ``I am at my wits end to understand as to what prevents the Chief Minister from taking stern action against   lazy and inefficient police officers and misfit for the job of enforcing the rule of law. Even the DGP has admitted that crime will keep hapening and it can not be eliminated.’’

“The voters in the state had voted the BJP to power with the huge expectation that it would honour its promises made during the Assembly poll. Yogi Adityanath seems to have some other priorities and he is more interested in ordering probes into projects and schemes implemented during my regime and renaming schemes initiated by the previous SP government,’’ said Akhilesh. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party announced to distance itself from the International Yoga Day function on Wednesday. The party has organised a parallel function of cycling by party cadres across the state on Wednesday morning. SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said that for creating awareness about environment and health, party workers would ride cycles at each district headquarter at 6 am on Wednesday. later as per convenience, they would perform Yoga at their residence. “Party cadres have been directed to maintain order and refrain from causing inconvenience to the common man,” said Chaudhary.
