Continuing his tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav accused the former for betraying the people after promising them "acchhe din". He also dared the Centre to compare development work undertaken by the SP regime in the state with the work done by other party’s government.
Yadav made the remarks while addressing a gathering soon after launching projects worth over Rs 370 crore in Siddharthnagar on Saturday afternoon.
"A party and it’s leader promised 'achche din' but even after completion of half of its term at the Centre, nothing has been done. The hollow promises have been exposed and now the people know the reality," the CM pointed out.
"Does the Centre have a scheme like Samajwadi Pension scheme IJ Can you compete with Samajwadi Ambulance serviceIJ What facilities is the Centre extending to te people IJ We gave bicycles and laptops, tell us what has the Centre done," he asked.
Highlighting projects during his tenure, Yadav said that work on Agra-lucknow expressway has been completed in record time and Metro Rail will roll out in lucknow soon.
"The government is working to provide 24-hour power in prominent towns. The police has been provided with hi-tech facilities to improve law and order in the state," the Chief Minister said.
"If you compare, you will find us better...I will tell SP workers to go to people and ask which party is working for them. This is the way to development and prosperity. The SP has delivered on promises it made in its manifesto. Both, Hindus and Muslims, have faith in the party as no other government has done so well. I appeal to you to give us another chance," he appealed while assuring the congregation.
Taking a dig at the Centre's 'Jan Dhan Yojana', Akhilesh Yadav said that such a large number of accounts would not have been opened had the SP government not got 6,000 new bank branches set up.
later attacking the BSP, the CM said that the previous regime wasted people's money on stone memorials and parks. He also highlighted the corrupt practices during BSP’s regime and pointed out that those leaving the BSP were now revealing the truth about Mayawati’s lust for money.
