Akhilesh slams govt over law and order

Published on:

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav targeted the state government over the deterioration in law and order.

He alleged that the BJP rule in UP had become synonymous with jungle raj which had aggravated the crisis for the common people due to anarchy and sharp spurt in crime.

He also accused the BJP of being anti-farmer, saying neither the welfare of farmers nor fight for the injustice and inequality were on the agenda of the ruling party.

Akhilesh Yadav charged that serious incidents of crime had occurred in Gorakhpur, the home town of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, besides incidents of loot in Agra.  He said in Agra, a bank was looted and the police, instead of providing security to the traders and businessmen, were involved in extortion from the business class.

He said an extortion racket was exposed in Noida where the policemen were found to be threatening the owner of a finance company.
