Taking a jibe at the Samajwadi Party, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Akhilesh Yadav was myopic and could not see the development being carried out in Uttar Pradesh.

“It is unfortunate that opposition leaders are not seeing the development in the state nor are they talking about the changing scenario where criminals are almost eliminated," Shah said while addressing a rally in Dibiyapur in Auraiya on Tuesday. The Home minister said that the economy of Uttar Pradesh was completely ruined under the rule of both Behenji and Babua of SP-BSP governments. "The SP and BSP governments of aunt and nephew ran the government for 15 years but did nothing for the poor. Only the criminals benefited in the SP and BSP regimes," he said.

During his speech Shah detailed the achievement of the Yogi government and spoke about schemes. "The BJP government has given more money to sugarcane farmers than what the previous governments had done in the last 10 years. The poor were provided with food grains during the pandemic while during the SP regime ration, meant for the poor, was sold in the open market," he said.

Shah appealed to the people to vote for a government that worked for the poor and implements the welfare schemes on the ground. “This is the power of the double engine government because it believes in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’,” he said. Auraiya will go to polls in the third phase of the ongoing Assembly elections and polling will be held on February 20.
