In another attempt to chastise party workers Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has issued a show cause notice against a leader for giving advertisements in media and putting up hoardings on Yadav’s birthday on July 1.

Yadav, who is also state party president, has asked Balbir Singh Saluja to explain within three days as why action should not be taken against him for issuing advertisements and putting up hoardings without the consent of party leadership. The party leadership had time and again issued statements asking workers not to use party name to project themselves. Yadav had even asked leaders and workers not to use party colours or symbol in their visiting cards. They have also been asked not to use party flags in their cars.

last week in a statement Yadav had asked workers not to use words like Samajwadi or Samajwad in their NGOs or organizations. He had also clarified that such organizations will have nothing to do with Samajwadi party. In the same line the state party president asked Saluja why he should not be sacked from the primary membership of the party for action "against the directives of the senior leadership,"

In the notice Saluja has been asked to explain as why he claims himself to be state general secretary whereas he is not a member of the state executive committee.
