Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, reacting sharply to a remark of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath describing his father as ‘abba’, said the chief minister should keep a check on his words as he (Akhilesh) could also pay back in the same coin.
“UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should keep a check on his words as I can also say something about his father,” Akhilesh Yadav said, reacting to Yogi's remarks on Friday.
“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath knows some other language. He aims to take the election to another side. He should balance his language. I heard the interview on a TV channel on Friday where the chief minister said something about my father. He should keep in mind that I can also say something about his father,” Akhilesh Yadav said here on Saturday.
Akhilesh Yadav, who is the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said the farmers were upset with the Bharatiya Janata Party even as the saffron party had governments in Uttar Pradesh and at the Centre.
"This government will capture the land of farmers. The SP has always compensated the farmers by increasing the circle rate," Akhilesh said, adding that many farmers had joined the Samajwadi Party and the party stood with them.
Akhilesh Yadav further said that the BJP government made big promises for the dairy sector but it had not yet been delivered.
"If BJP has good relations with Gujarat, then why did it not bring the new plants of Amul (to UP). Wherever there is a plant of Amul in UP, milk of UP farmers is not being procured," he alleged.
Akhilesh Yadav also claimed that his party would win over 400 seats in the UP Assembly elections next year.
"In the 2017 UP Assembly polls, the BJP came to power by spreading false propaganda and fake news, fake videos on social media. Let the elections come, we will win the number of seats I have predicted,” he said.
