With an aim to put pressure on the Akhilesh Yadav Government on poor power scenario
in the state, the BJP MPs will stage a day long dharna at Gandhi Pratima, near GPO, on Monday. Party spokesman Vijay Bahadur pathak said that decision regarding this was taken in the state executive meeting of the party held in Vrindavan last week. “All the MPs (from lok Sabha dn Rajya sabha) are expected to attend this dharna,” Pathak said in a statement issued here on Sunday. He said that the MPs will meet the Governor Ram Naik in the evening and hand over a memorandum requesting him to use his influence to provide relief to the people.
“The state is passing through a bad time. Barring the districts, which have connections with high and might in Akhilesh Yadav Government, all other region is facing regular rostering. The cities are getting electricity between 8-10 hours while villages are getting power for less than 4 hours,” Pathak said .He said the BJP has been asking the state government time and again to improve power scenario. It should purchase extra electricity from centre and look for the options to increase generation. “This lackadaisical approach of the government is responsible for the prevailing crisis,” BJP spokesman said.
