Advocating use of bicycle in daily life Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said cycling is the best exercise for any person as it not only conserves the environment and but also keeps people fit.
''There is a need for separate infrastructure for cycling in the country besides more awareness is needed for the people to adopt the cheapest mode of transportation,' he said.
Bicycle is in fact election symbol of Samajwadi Party but CM stayed away from politics. Flagging of a programe to promote cycling in the state capital here under the banner of ' Paddle for cleaner, greener, better, lajajab lucknow,'' Chief Minister said it was unfortunate that in India bi-cycle was mostly used by poor, farmers and labourers but in foreign countries it is a common mode of transport and people use it frequently.
The Chief Minister made it clear that cycling is the best way to keep a person fit besides preserving the environment.On the occassion, Yadav also gave a cash reward of Rs 21,000 to one Pappu Azad for giving an excellent display of cycle balance.
