Akhilesh cautions people against voting BSP

In an apparent change of tactic to influence the muslim voters Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav   attacked the arch rival Bahujan Samaj party accusing it of transferring its vote to the BJP during the last lok Sabha elections in 2014.   Akhilesh cautioned the people against voting for the BSP as it could again join hands with the BJP to form the government.

“BSP drew a blank in last parliament elections in 2014. I enquired into the matter and what came out was shocking as the BSP had got its votes transferred in favour of the BJP,” claimed Akhilesh Yadav addressing election meeting in Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur on Friday.

“The BSP chief Mayawati has formed government three times with BJP in the past and this time round too this party could repeat the history and so their leader is out to mislead the people, especially Muslims, so as to divide their vote to help the BJP,” alleged Akhilesh Yadav

“If the voters fall to such tactics, BJP could once again help BSP to form its government in the state,” he said, appealing to people to vote for the SP-Congress alliance “for further taking the state ahead on the path of development”.

SP president said that the BSP has nothing to showcase as its achievement in UP as the party did nothing for the people accept installing statues of elephants and constructing the parks and memorials. ``Even the BSP was now talking of development and promising no more statues and memorials ‘’, said Akhilesh Yadav.

The Samajwadi Party president said it was now the turn of the people to give a befitting reply to BJP which had forced “burey din” on them through note ban after promising “achhe din”. The chief minister said his government has worked for the progress of all sections of society in the past five years and established a balance in the urban and rural areas in development. He also rejected the repeated  charge against his government of bad law and order  saying `` the state government has taken series of measures to tone up the law and order including  starting  the Dial 100 service , for which not a penny was given by the Union government’’.

Defending  SP alliance with the Congress  SP president said ``earlier there was some confusion  whether the Samajwadi party will be voted back to power, after alliance with the Congress we  are a formidable  entity and there was no scope for any doubt on the return of the party to power in assembly elections’’.

In Pilibhit district with sizeable Sikh population chief minister Akhilesh Yadav appealed the Sikh voters to extend their support to the Samajwadi party. He said the SP brought a Sikh leader Balwant Singh Ramuwalia from Punjab and inducted him as minister.

Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur go to polls on February 15 in second phase of polling to UP assembly elections. A total of 67 assembly seats will go to polls in second phase of polling in the state. The 403 Assembly constituencies in UP will go to polls in seven phases between February 11and March and their results will be out on 11 March.
