Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who is in hurry to prepare a positive result card before elections, which can be announced before end of this month, inaugurated series of projects worth Rs 60,000 crore and declared that speed of development will increase if Samajwadi Party is voted back to power.
Since morning till evening Chief Minister inaugurated hundreds of projects in Mandi Parishad, inaugurated over a dozen projects in Ram Manohar lohia Hospital, inaugurated International cricket stadium, laid foundation stone of multiplex and shopping mall in CG City. The list did not end here – he inaugurated new OPD block, library, neuro OT in SGPGI and also inaugurated modern bus depot in Kaiserbagh. By evening he inaugurated Heritage Zone.
The number of projects he inaugurated is so huge that officials themselves lost the count. “I cannot tell you exactly how many projects CM has inaugurated or money involved in construction of these projects. In PWD he inaugurated around 400 roads and as around two dozen Kisan bazaar have also been opened for the use of public. Roughly projects worth Rs 60,000 crore were either inaugurated or foundation stone was laid,” a senior official said. Addressing these functions CM said that he was ready to face people with confidence. I have my report card ready. See the number of projects our government has inaugurated in a day. This is the work we have done for the people of the state. If we have worked in rural sector by building Kisan mandi, we have given better infrastructure to urban people by building metro and new bus depot, he said.
While inaugurating Kisan Bazaar he said it is only Samajwadi Party which has constructed mandis for the welfare of farmers. The Agra-lucknow Expressway will have series of mandis across Exprerssway. This will provide a easy market for them. “We have always promoted diversification in agri-sector and therefore asked farmers to try hand in dairy sector. Big dairy giants like Amul and Mother Dairy have set up their plants in UP. This will give additional income to the farmers,” he said.
CM also inaugurated 394 projects of PWD worth Rs 1600 crore. Good roads will speed up economic development. We always believe that if we can double the speed economy will treble in no time, he said. While inaugurating Cricket stadium CM said that these facilities will help sports persons to hone their skills.
The speed with which CM inaugurated these projects drew opposition barbs who said that unfinished projects have been inaugurated. CM gave an answer to his detractors saying opposition was afraid of the work done by Samajwadi Party government hence they are making hue and cry over his inauguration spree.
“But I am grateful to them (opposition leaders) as they are not claiming these projects being theirs. We have transformed tGomti river front, raised employment and created livelihood for poor people. These projects like expressway will benefit people,” he said.
He said: “On Monday we had launched some schemes. We distributed laptops and distributed cheques among Samajwadi Pension beneficiaries. Since elections dates can be announced any day we are in a hurry to inaugurate these projects,” he said while talking to reporters at the JP International Centre where he inaugurated a swimming pool.
When asked when he was confident of majority why he was talking of alliance with Congress. “You have not understood our stand. We are going to form a majority government of our own but if there is an alliance we will reach 300 mark,” he said. Commenting on the demonetisation CM said that Narendra IJModi government is constantly shifting goal posts. First it talked about black money and terror finance and now they are asking people to go cashless. People are suffering and they will settle the score in next election,” he said.
