In an attempt to control open defecation in the state capital Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked officials of lucknow Nagar Nigam to solve this menace within 30 days times otherwise get ready to face music. CM has asked Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate and Municipal Commissioner of lucknow to prepare work plan with in three days and solve this problem within next 30 days.
Government spokesman said that CM has asked officials to carry out a survey of whole of city and identify the areas where people go for open defection. Initial reports suggest that over 25,000 people go for open defecation in 67 mohullas because they do not have toilets at their homes.
The officials have been asked to prepare a blue print of the full project as how many toilets are needed to be constructed and how much time will it take to have required number of toilets. “Chief Ministers lucknow to be open defecation free. Once we get success in lucknow, similar projects would be launched on other cities,” the spokesman said.
