Akhilesh’s dig at PM

Published on:

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi,Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the people have seen how broad the chest was during the Kumbh dip.

The reference was to the Prime Minister’s statement that one needed a “56-inch chest” to transform Uttar Pradesh into an advanced state.

Appearing in an interview in a TV channel on Saturday, Akhilesh accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of ruining farmers of the state.

He said the Bharatiya Janata Party would lose the coming Lok Sabha elections as the Yogi government had not worked on the ground.

Akhilesh countered the popular perception that his father Mulayam Singh Yadav was against the SP alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party as he had wished a second term to the Prime Minister on the concluding session of the 16th Lok Sabha.

“Did Netaji not congratulate and bless Dr Manmohan Singh in similar manner? Did he (Singh) return to power?” the SP chief asked.
