Congress legislative Party (ClP) leader in UP Assembly, Ajay Kumar `lallu’ charged the ruling BJP for trying to defame the Opposition party members through concocted information about signing of attendance register.
“Ruling party members were making false claims that we and other Opposition members were signing the attendance register despite keeping themselves off from the House to protest against statement of Chief Minister,”charged lallu.
“We are not coming to the House to get allowances but to raise the voices of the people and exposed the misdeeds of the government,” the ClP leader.
lallu claimed that some members signed the register due to confusion on one day but no Opposition leaders signed the attendance register later on during the walkout from the Assembly. He further clarified that even those who signed due to the confusion rectified it later on.
Talking to media persons on Tuesday, lallu said that the Opposition members were just following the path of non-coopeartion shown by Mahatma Gandhi, to register their protest against the dictatorial approach of the ruling BJP.
On the question whether the Opposition will continue their protest on Wednesday, lallu said that they would hold a meeting in the morning and decide on the issue.
On running a ‘Parallel House’ on Monday, lallu said that it was nothing new and on earlier occasion too, Opposition members have held such parallel proceedings in protest.
