AIMIM offers  ticket to Mukhtar

After Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati announced not to field any criminals in the 2022 UP assembly polls and denied party ticket to jailed don-turned-sitting BSP legislator Mukhtar Ansari, the Hyderabad -based All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) offered field Ansari from a seat of his choice.

The sitting BSP MLA has been in jail for over a decade and is presently lodged in Banda district jail.

AIMIM spokesperson Asim Waqar said in a statement issued on Friday that his party had decided to offer a ticket to Mukhtar Ansari.

"Join the AIMIM and contest the next election from our party. The Bahujan Samaj Party believes in politics of use and throw. Why should Muslim leaders buy the ticket from the BSP when they have a viable alternative like AIMIM,” Waqar said.
