All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has dared the major political parties to hold ‘Open Debate’ on different issues related to Dalits and Muslims.
“Instead of labeling me communal and anti-national, why not Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Paty (BSP), Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) sit for an open debate on the issues faced by the people especially Dalits and Muslims. Either they should come in my public meeting or I would come alone in their meetings for the debate,” said Owaisi while addressing State level AIMIM workers conference at KGMU Scientific Convention Centre on Saturday.
Apart from political issues, AIMIM Chief presented statistics based on census 2011 on educational status of Muslim community targeting SP government.
Owaisi claimed as per census data the literacy rate of Muslim in Uttar Pradesh has gone down. In 2001, it was 58 per cent which came down by 2 per cent to 56 percent. SP promised to create an educational hub in the state where is that hub, are they going to show it to all with a magic wand. If I question on this I am labeled as communal. “If lohia ji would have been alive, he must have said that AIMIM is working on his thoughts not Samajwadi Party,” he added.
Not sparing Muslim leadership in other political parties, he said Azam Khan, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Ghulam Nabi Azad, etc. are not the leaders but they are the ‘dealers’ who arranges the Muslim vote-bank for their respective parties. Muslims and Dalits were betrayed on all fronts by such dealers. “If I speak about 70 years of oppression by the political parties it becomes provoking while other party leaders speech were just like they were singing ‘Ghazal’. The Constitution of India gave us right to speak for the rights and that’s we do,” he added.
Taking a jibe on law and order condition of the state, AIMIM Chief said sometime back a UP Minister’s buffalos were reported to be stolen. Those were not stolen; buffalos were fed up of him and ran away from the house. Similarly, a BJP MP complained her dog ‘Kallu’ was stolen. Is the level of politics have gone down to Kallu and Buffalos. “There is no control on law and order, the government implements law when AIMIM seek permission for rally. Buladnshahar gang-rape was fresh case depicting government’s failure. In Muzaffarnagar riots none of the MlAs spoke openly and Jawahar Bagh (Mathura) land encroachment was sponsored,” he added.
Speaking on Gau-Raksha issue, Owaisi said there are more than 8 lakh dalits in the country who de-skin the dead cows. But now the situation is ‘Tum Chamdi Utaroge to Chamdi Udhed Denge’. In such a case, the RSS-BJP leaders should stop using leather belts and shoes. Even the diabetic leaders should stop using ‘Insulin’ as it is made up of Pancreas. The number of dalit beating in name of Gau-raksha has increased even two Muslim females were thrashed in Madhya Pradesh.
The BJP has announced to carry out Tiranga Yatra from August 15 to August 24 across the country. Owaisi said BJP leaders should know a fact that national flag came from the design of a Muslim who was with Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. “Once Veer Savarkar said that tri color flag could never become national flag, still BJP celebrates his birth anniversary. First act of terrorism was killing of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathuram Godse but BJP praises him,” he added.
The AIMIM didn’t reveal the plans for going into alliance with any political party in the state but he hinted that the party is ready to move along but not behind any one. He urged the party workers to reach out to the masses with party’s agenda of development for Muslims and Dalits. “I have promised to visit all the vidhan sabha constituencies in the state during elections. Even if the permission is denied the reach out program will not stop,” said Owaisi.
