Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Central government's Agnipath Yojana was an attractive recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces and said after retirement they would be given priority in state police service.
This year 46,000 Agniveers will be recruited.
“After serving in the Indian Armed Forces, Agniveers will be given priority in the jobs of Uttar Pradesh Police Service and other related services by the state government,” Yogi said in a message here on Wednesday.
He said under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government was continuously dedicated and fully committed for the uplift of youth and to their secure future.
“The goal of this scheme is to connect the armed forces with the youth power with modern technology,” he said.
Yogi said through Agnipath Yojana, youth would get a unique opportunity to serve the country and contribute to nation building. He said this scheme was the beginning of a new era in the human resource policy of the three services of the country. “This will make the profile of the armed forces young and energetic,” he added.
“A fine balance between young and experienced personnel will be ensured in the Armed Forces,” he said.
