After Unnao Kuldeep Sengar another BJP MlA creats trouble

Published on:

After its legislator from Unnao Kuldeep Sengar gave the blushes, yet another BJP MlA from Tilhar seat of Shahjahenpur, Roshan lal Verma created similar trouble for the ruling party.

A woman, who had charged the MlA and his son Manoj Verma of gang rape in 2011, has now sat on an indefinite sit on at district collectrate of Shahjahenpur. She alleged that the accused pulled strings to evade the law and when she persisted with her struggle for justice, they were handing her life threats.

As per reports, a woman sat on a dharna and accused BJP MlA Roshan lal and his son Manoj of raping her in 2011, after which she registered a case with the local police for kidnapping, rape and threatening her with her life. She said that after the case was registered, Roshan lal got his son married to her and asked her to withdraw the case. The woman said in 2013, the matter was closed after they got married and had a daughter who was now five years of age.

After t he case was closed two years back, the MlA and his son kicked her out of the house. left with no option, she handed over a complaint to the government and a probe by Crime Branch Crime Investigation Department (CB CID) was initiated in 2016.

Seeking justice and action against the MlA, the woman claimed that now the accused were again pressuring her to withdraw her case from CB CID or be ready to face action.

The woman claimed that as the local police refused to take action against the MlA, so she was forced to sit on a dharna.

However on Tuesday evening, the woman’s protest ended when ADM Shahjahenpur, JK Sharma assured her of initiating proper action in the matter.

Meanwhile BJP MlA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar, was shifted from Unnao district jail to Sitapur district jail on directions of the High Court on Tuesday. The HC ordered to shift the MlA on the complaint lodged by the victim on the grounds that the accused MlA and his cronies were using local clout in Unnao to terrorise the witnesses and influenced the probe.

It may be mentioned that the BJP government initially tried to protect its rape accused MlA by not registering a case against him. However, facing opposition flak, the government handed over the case to the CBI, which arrested Sengar on April 13 after questioning him for over 15 hours.

The rape victim’s father, who was found dead in police custody, was falsely framed in a case of possessing illicit arms and sent to jail after been beaten up by the MlA’s brother and goons on the evening of April 3.

The girl’s father was then lodged in Unnao district jail and was dprived of proper medical treatment which resulted in his death in Unnao district hospital on April 9.

The incident hogged media headlines for days after the victim tried to immolate herself outside the CM’s residence over police inaction in the case. later Sengar’s brother was arrested in the murder case.
