Claiming a clear majority for BJP in the ongoing Assembly elections, Union Human Resources Development (HRD) minister Prakash Javdekar said that once BJP formed the government, it would send criminals like Gayatri Prasad Prajpati and Arun Verma behind the bars.
“I am told that SP president Akhilesh Yadav has addressed election meetings for Gayatri Prajapati and Arun Verma - who are wanted in rape and murder cases. This shows how much the CM is close to these criminals and is patronising these people,” Javdekar said while announcing that criminals and corruption would not be tolerated by the next BJP government in UP at any cost.
Addressing media persons in lucknow on Monday, the Union minister said that an attempt was being made to shed baggage of non-performance by scripting a family drama in which Akhilesh was projected as a martyr.
“But this facade has fell through now. People know what transpired behind the curtains and therefore they have rejected Samajwadi Party,” he said.
Javdekar said that after three phases of polling, one thing was clear that the BJP will form the government in UP. “The SP-Congress alliance and BSP were merely fighting out for the second spot. Who will come second I do not know. But I can predict that the BJP will get over 300 plus seats in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
“The voters of UP have done a ‘chamatkar’ (miracle) by rejecting both the SP-Congress alliance and BSP as they are now fed up with their failure to control law and order. Both parties have minted money in the last 15 years,” he said adding that people wanted development and therefore have voted en bloc for the BJP.
Besides, Javdekar said that several initiatives of the Narendra Modi government including Ujjawala Yojana of giving free lPG cylinders to poor women, transfer of money through DBT, self attestation of certificates, end of interview for class 3 and 4 jobs and distribution of subsidised lED bulbs are some of the measures which people appreciated in a big way. “Allk these have paved the way for the BJP’s win in UP,” Javdekar said.
Disclosing that the Centre was trying its best to bring a law to control fee structure of private educational institutions in the country, the Union minister said that his department was doing everything to restructure education system in the country.
