Apna Dal (Sonelal) president and Union minister of state for Health Anupriya Patel said ‘acche din’ in Uttar Pradesh was not possible till there was an SP or BSP government here.
“Both the SP and BSP were involved in deep-rooted corruption and scams. There has been no development in the state during the past over one decade. Till these parties are there no one can bring ‘achche din’ in Uttar Pradesh,” she said.
Addressing a press conference in lucknow on Friday, the Union minister asserted that once the NDA government comes to power in the state, good days will return.
“Many pro-poor and pro-farmer Central schemes will be implemented which have been stalled by the present SP government,” Patel said.
“The NDA government in UP would focus on women empowerment and their security. Three women police battalion, three women police stations in each district, 100 fast track courts to deal with cases of atrocities against women and Anti-romeo squad would be the main agenda of the new government,” Anupriya said.
She also said that the Centre was doing everything, including distribution of cheap and generic medicines. “Six new super speciality hospitals would come up in UP once the BJP-led government comes to power in the state,” she added.
Asked about the bickering in her party and with her mother Krishna Patel, who runs a parallel party along with her sister, the Apna Dal president said that at present, she was focussing on the elections and ruled out any differences within the party rank and file.
Apna Dal (S) is contesting 12 seats of eastern UP in alliance with the BJP in the UP Assembly elections.
