Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), student’s wing of the RSS on Sunday burned the effigy of the cabinet minister and Suheldeo Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president Om Prakash Rajbhar to protest against the nonpayment of scholarships to the students of the SC and OBCs. Rajbhar for the last couple of months is running relentless campaign against the BJP and the Yogi Adityanath, causing embarrassing situation for the BJP government.
The ABVP activists staged a protest and burnt the effigy at Hazratganj in the state capital on Sunday led by its leaders Vivek Singh and Ujjawal Tripathi blaming the minister for stopping the scholarships. The students raised slogans against the minister and even burnt his effigy. The ABVP activists raised slogans against the minister.
ABVP organization secretary Satyabhan Singh alleged that the minister has made Dr Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University a den of corruption and scam. He said that the minister who also holds the charge of physically challenged welfare department is doing nothing but minting money from the University. He said the ABVP has given several memorandums to the minister demanding improvement in sorry state of affairs in Dr SDhakuntla Mishra University but he has taken no action so far.
Besides he alleged that the minister has made through university an office of his party which was hampering the educational atmosphere of the university. The ABVP activists threatened to gherao the minister if he failed to amend his style of functioning. The ABVP alleged that the minister is working in his department in an arbitrary manner and promoting corruption.
The protest by the ABVP comes after Rajbhar continued to attack chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the BJP government and even termed it as corrupt government. SBSP is an ally of the BJP in UP and from time to time it was criticising the state government.
