According to reports, the trouble started on late Friday night when the staff of the toll plaza stopped the supporters from taking a particular exit lane. This irked them and they vandalised the toll-booth and beat up the staff on duty. According to eye witnesses, Singh was sitting in his car at the time of the incident and did not step out to stop his supporters. The victims also said that the police refused to take action against the accused as they belonged to the ruling Samajwadi party. Interestingly, the incident was captured in the CCTV camera and the photographs were published in the newspapers on Saturday but still neither the government nor the local administration took cognizance of the matter. The Toll Plaza employees also reportedly not dared to go ahead to seek legal action. Efforts to contact SP MlA, Abhay Singh, to learn the facts also failed as he could not be contacted over telephone.
