The Aam Aadmi Party will organise 800 workers’ meets across Uttar Pradesh between November 20 and November 30 in the run-up to the urban local bodies’ polls to boost its preparations for these elections.
AAP state incharge of local bodies’ election, Sabhajeet Singh, said the workers’ meet had been chalked out on the instruction of AAP leader Sanjay Singh.
“The responsibility to organise the workers’ meet has been given to 77 office-bearers of the party and heads of zones, regions and districts will address the workers and galvanise them for the election,” he said.
Giving details of the poll strategy, Sabhajeet Singh said the office-bearers of AAP would highlight the corruption in municipal corporations and appeal to the people to vote for AAP in these elections.
He said the AAP would distribute membership forms during the workers' meets and conduct a survey for the probable candidates willing to contest the election.
“We will induct new members in the party during the workers' meet and will make people aware of the Arvind Kejriwal model of governance,” he said.
Singh said AAP would contest all the seats in UP in the urban local bodies elections.
“The people of UP have given a lot of affection to AAP and put their trust in us. The ruling party government is uncomfortable due to AAP’s surging popularity among the public,” he said.
He added that AAP’s ‘Gandagi Hatao Jhadu Chalao’ march was a hit and it increased the party’s popularity manifold.
“We will talk about the poor condition of education, health system, women security, administrative apathy, bribery and corruption rampant in municipal corporations, in the workers’ meet,” he added.
