Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will elect its UP unit president and secretary on August 18.
District and zonal level office-bearers of the party will elect their new state chief and secretary.
Nine leaders are in the fray for each post.
AAP state spokesman Mahendra Singh said that steps were being taken to constitute a new UP state executive committee.
“The existing committees in Awadh, Purvanchal, Rohilkhand, Paschim and Bundelkhand regions have been dissolved to pave way for the constitution of the state unit. The state committee will be formed by mid August,” he said.
Singh said the elected state chief and secretary would appoint the office-bearers.
Singh admitted that AAP was yet to enrol a sizeable number of members in the party.
“We will broaden our base in districts and for this we launch a drive to make four lakh new members,” he said.
