The state unit of Aam Aadmi Party launched a stir against unemployment with a ‘Rozgar Guarantee Padyatra’ (employment guarantee march) starting from Prayagraj on Thursday.
AAP state unit chief spokesman Vaibhav Maheshwari told news persons that the biggest tragedy was unemployment in UP and those sitting in the government were making it fester further due to their ignorance and their egos.
“At a time when farmers and youths should be at their respective workplaces -- in fields and at jobs -- they are on the agitation path to press for their demands. To gag the voice of dissent, the government is slapping fake cases on farmers and they are even being addressed as ‘Khalistani’ and ‘Pakistani’ while the youths are being caned and are being sent to jail for demanding jobs. The aim of the ‘Rojgar Guarantee Padyatra’ is to take the agitation against unemployment to the polling booths," Maheshwari pointed out.
Maheshwari said that AAP's UP incharge and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Sigh flagged off the march being led by Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti in Prayagraj on Thursday.
"By the change in the government, the problem will be solved and therefore the AAP will appeal to the youths to link their agitation with the AAP's Rojgar Guarantee Padyatra and take it to polling booths. The youths should vote the BJP out of power in the coming Assembly election by voting against it," he said.
Maheshwari further alleged that the Yogi Adityanath government was against education for all and said that a maximum number of vacancies were in the Education department.
"The recruitment of teachers is pending and the selected candidates are being made to do rounds of the offices. In fact, the BJP does not want youths to get education and jobs but it wants to engage them in issues like mandir-masjid, love jihad, Hindu Muslim, to mislead them," he said.
The AAP spokesman demanded action against the basic education minister for the scam in recruitment of 69,000 teachers and said that the minister was involved in a EWS certificate fraud through which his (minister's) brother got a job of assistant professor.
Educationist Ghanshayam Srivasatav, who was also present in the media briefing at the AAP office, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government bypassed the constitutional provisions of reservation of 27 per cent to OBCs in the recruitment process. Senior AAP leaders, including media incharge Mahendra Singh, were also present on this occasion.
