Aam Aadmi Party Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti’s state chief Vanshraj Dubey dared the Yogi Adityanath government to issue a White Paper on the status of employment in Uttar Pradesh.
He alleged that the state government was presenting fudged data to cover up its failure on providing jobs. He said the state government had failed to complete the recruitments during its four-and-a-half year rule. “The Bharatiya Janata Party government has completed four-and-a-half years in office. At the time of assuming office in 2017, the Yogi government had promised 13 lakh jobs within 90 days but it failed miserably. The government is presenting fake data on jobs it gave to unemployed people in UP and this way it has frustrated the youths of the state. If the BJP government has indeed provided 4.5 lakh jobs then it should issue a White Paper to prove its claim, “he said.
“The state government had announced recruitment for 12,387 through the UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission and all these vacancies are lying pending for various reasons. A similar situation prevails in other commissions set up for recruitment, be it recruitment of teachers or sub-inspectors. The unemployed youths are going through a harrowing time as they have been misled by the false promises of the BJP government and when they raise their concern by staging demonstrations they are beaten with lathis,” he said.
On the other hand, AAP Backward Cell state chief, AP Singh, alleged that the UP government was conspiring to end reservations for Backward Classes and warned of a massive agitation if the government played with the quota.
He said the OBCs had played a big role in bringing the BJP to power in 2017 but the youths of the OBC community were cheated by the ruling party. “In the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, the government ignored the reservation for OBCs while in NEET exams, it cancelled the 15 per cent quota for OBCs. In recruitment for Higher Education Service Commission last year, the cut-off merit for general class was 102 while the cut-off merit was 130 for OBCs. This issue was even raised by AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh in Parliament,” he said.
