AAP hits out at govt over deaths of kids in Firozabad

Expressing grief over the death of children due to a mysterious fever in Firozabad, Aam Aadmi Party state chief Sabahjeet Singh alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh had failed to arrange beds in hospitals, medicines and tests.

“When there was a dearth of doctors in government hospitals, what was the use of removing the CMOs for laxity in hospitals. Several children have died of a mysterious fever in five districts, including Firozabad, amid the apprehension of a third wave of coronavirus infection. The BJP government earlier hid the data on the number of people who died due of COVID-19 and now it is hiding the data on deaths due to the mystery fever. The situation has turned horrible in five districts of UP including Firozabad, Kasganj and Agra, where several children died due to dengue or mysterious fever. The Medical Health department is unable to handle the situation which has not improved even after an inspection of arrangements by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath last week,” Singh alleged in a press release issued in Lucknow on Thursday.

The AAP leader alleged that there were no doctors at the government hospitals in these districts. He alleged that around 50 children died in Firozabad while over 200 were sick.

Expressing grief over the death of the children, Singh demanded that the government pay compensation to the families of the deceased.

“The deaths of children due to the mystery fever has exposed the BJP government’s claim of medical arrangements to contain the third wave of COVID-19. The government is presenting fake data on medical health facilities to hide its failure,” he alleged.

Singh also said that Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP leader Manish Sisodia would be the chief guest at a Tiranga Yatra to be taken out in Ayodhya on September 14 and that it would be led by AAP’s UP in-charge Sanjay Singh.
