In a touching demonstration of devotion and collective spirit, Ayodhya is adorned with gifts from every corner of the country, marking the consecration of the magnificent Shri Ram Temple.

Among the standout offerings are:

Jalesar’s resonance: A colossal 2,100 kg Ashtadhatu bell from Jalesar in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, which now proudly stands as the largest bell in the temple complex. This monumental creation, constructed over four years at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, reaches a height of six feet and spans five feet in width. The bell’s reverberations are expected to reach far and wide, creating an enchanting melody that captivates all who listen.

Ujjain's sweet symphony: Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, joined the celebration by sending a sweet offering of five lakh laddus. Acting on the directive of MP Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, these delectable treats are meticulously crafted at the Mahakaleshwar temple complex’s laddu prasad manufacturing unit. Made from pure desi ghee and an assortment of dry fruits, these mouthwatering laddus, weighing around 250 quintals, added a sweet touch to the auspicious occasion.

Chhattisgarh’s bounty: Chhattisgarh, the maternal birthplace of Lord Ram, played an active role in the grand consecration ceremony. On December 30, 2023, the state dispatched 3,000 quintals of rice, a collective effort from all 33 districts. This rice, including premium varieties, played a crucial role in the mahabhandara of Lord Ram on January 22. Additionally, the state contributed 100 tons of vegetables to enhance the elaborate preparations.

Rajasthan’s aromatic gesture: From the heartland of Rajasthan, 2,100 casks of mustard oil embarked on a journey to Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma flagged off the yatra, underlining the significance of this aromatic contribution. This mustard oil, sourced from diverse regions across the country, will play a pivotal role in preparing the prasad for the devotees visiting Ram Lalla.

Gujarat’s fragrant offerings: Vadodara, Gujarat, contributed to the grandeur with a 108-feet-long incense stick, made from a blend of desi cow dung, ghee and aromatic herbs. Weighing 3,610 kg, this colossal incense stick is set to burn for one and a half months, diffusing its fragrant aroma up to 50 kilometres. Additionally, a special saree from Surat, embellished with a Ram Temple-themed necklace made of 5,000 American diamonds and two kilogram of silver, was gifted to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust by a benevolent diamond merchant.

Maharashtra’s culinary extravaganza: Chef Vishnu Manohar from Nagpur contributed a culinary delight to the festivities –7,000 kg of Ram halwa. This sweet treat was a gastronomic delight for those attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
