In a heart rending incident, a man killed himself after he hacked his wife to death in Sitapur district on Sunday.According to reports, the man identified as Haneef resided with his family at Babupur village under Mahmoodabad police station.
The police said Haneef was suffering with some mental disease and he was not on good terms with his wife Khalikun. The cops said the couple used to have verbal spat off and on one issue or other. On Sunday, the duo picked a fight. In a fit of rage, Haneef picked a sharp edged weapon that was lying in a room and attacked Khalikun several time. Khalikun suffered serious injuries at her neck and she began to bleed profusely. Seeing his wife in a pool of blood, Haneef attacked himself at his throat with the same weapon and injured himself seriously. The duo remained lied while unattended for hours and died of excess bleeding in the house. The police said further investigations are on.
Meanwhile, in Raibareilly district, unidentified persons hacked a 22-year-old youth identified as Vinay Kumar Sahu, to death on Saturday night. The victim was a resident of Annapur locality under lalganj police station and was at his shop selling mobile sets. As he did not return his home on Saturday night, his family went out to search him and find him lying dead road side. The miscreants had slit his throat. The police registered a case in this connection and further investigations are on. The police said enmity angle seemed to be a probable reason behind victim’s murder.
