Continuing his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his move to demonetise high value notes, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that 90 per cent of the population were affected by this anti-people move.
"The poor are the most affected by the Centre's decision. They are standing in queues for hours and returning home empty handed. This is increasing their anger against the government. These angry people will teach BJP and its allies a lesson in the coming UP elections,” Yadav said in lucknow on Friday.
launching the double fortified salt for the poor coined Samajwadi Namak (Salt) in lucknow, Yadav claimed that in UP the poor have been given free entry into CM's residence but there is another government which is going against the people.
"The farmers, poor and other people are facing problems due to demonetisation, but the Union government is not concerned about it. They are now realising that it has made a wrong move and therefore are changing rules almost everyday now,” he said.
Yadav said that in the last four and a half years, the Samajwadi Party government has launched many schemes but these were launched after full preparations. "Has anyone heard about corruption in Samajwadi Pension Scheme or distribution of laptops. This is because he had made an elaborate plan beforehand," he said.
However, the CM also expressed concerns over implementation of the ambitious Samajwadi Pension Scheme which provides Rs 500 a month to a poor family.
"After Rs 500 currency had been banned, the scheme could also be affected and the families could get their pension delayed," he said
Around 55-lakh families in UP are getting the Samajwadi Pension of Rs 500 a month.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister has announced extension of last date of registration of Samajwadi Smartphone till December 31. This decision was taken in view of people facing problems due to demoentisation, Yadav said in a written statement.
