A nine-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Philibhit while two more cases of attack on the members of fairer sex were reported from Ferozabad and Hardoi respectively.
In Philibhit, a girl residing in Khidkiya hamlet of Bisalpur wen missing after she went to attend her classes on Thursdaymorning. Her family reported the matter to the local police and also launched a search. On Friday morning, the girl’s body was recovered in a secluded place behind the school.
Senior officers later claimed that circumstantial evidences and injury marks on the victim’s body indicated that she was sexually assaulted before being murdered. The body was sent for autopsy and investigations are on.
In Ferozabad, a 19-year-old girl was shot at by unidentified persons in Santosh Nagar area in Uttar area on Fridaymorning. The incident took place when Babli was going to a market
from her home when some miscreants tried to grope her. When she resisted, she was shot atby the assailants. She was rushed to a hospital and later referred to Agra for intensive treatment as her condition was critical. Police is probing the matter. No arrests have so far been made in this connection.
Meanwhile in Hardoi, a 17-year-old girl was gang raped by four persons in Harpalpur area. On Thursday night, the girl was abducted by four persons from her house and later raped. The miscreants abandoned the girl in a field before fleeing. later the girl narrated her trauma to her parents, who subsequently lodged an FIR against Vivek, Man Singh, Arun and Aman. Police has launched a hunt for the accused.
Meanwhile, sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) claimed to have rescued two sisters who were kidnapped and sold about a year back. Ironically, to shrug off its responsibility, the Bareilly police had registered a caseof disappearance at the time of incident and shelved the file claiming that the grils had eloped. However, the High Court intervened and asked the STF sleuths to recover the victims. The elite force managed to rescue the kidnapees after a year and arrested five persons.
The two sisters from Hafizpur locality went to a `Satsang’ on the night of November 18 last year. When they did not return, their family members lodged a case of kidnapping with the police which chnged it to disappearnce. Thefamily later moved High Court afterwhich the STF took over the probe.
The leuths started tracing the accused and on Thursday night, they arrested Bareilly residents Dharampal, Raja aka Galib, Nem Chandra aka Chote Gangwar, Virendra and Hemandra from Bulundshahr and recovered the victims.
They disclosed that on the fateful day, Raja and Dharampal kidnapped the girls with help of two women and took them to Noida and kept them confined in the rented house of Nem Chandra. later Virendra took them to Ata locality of Aligarh where and forcibly got them married with Hemandra and Premveer.
The accused disclosed that they did not know the two women who handed over the girls to them and merely paid them forthe ‘delivery’. The victims were handed over to their parents after medical examination and efforts areon to arrest the remaining accused.
