A total of 89 candidates filed their nominations for the first phase of Assembly elections on Saturday. With this the total number of candidates in the fray for the first phase has now gone up to 168. In the first phase, 73 Assembly seats will go to polls on February 11.
On Saturday, the highest number of seven nominations each were filed in Noida and Ferozabad while in Atrauli and Agra South Assembly segments, six candidates each filed their papers.
For the second phase of polling in 67 Assembly seats, a total of 15 candidates filed their papers on the second day of the nominations on Saturday taking the a total number of candidates to 16. The last date for filing nominations for the second phase is January 27.
