In a sensational incident, a 6-year-old girl was kidnapped, sexually assaulted and later her body was dumped just few meters away from her house in Banna Devi locality of Aligarh on intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Surprisingly, the local police who were informed of the incident kept sleeping all through night which led wild protest by the local residents who pelted stones, attacked the police team and blocked traffic movement for several hours. However, later they had to face the wrath of the cops who mercilessly beaten them and not even spared the women just to chase them away from the spot.
According to reports, one Roop Kishore, a native of laschimpur locality of Banna Devi in Aligarh informed the police control room at about 3:30 am on Thursday that 6-year-old daughter of his neighbor was kidnapped by someone from her house earlier in the night. The cops reached the spot after about one hour and instead of taking any pain to look for the victim they returned asking the family members to launch a hunt on their own. Reports said that on Thursday morning, one Pawan Kumar, another neighbor of the girl informed the police control room that body of the missing girl was found lying in pool of blood in a vacant plot just near the house. The circumstantial evidences suggested that the victim was raped and later brutally murdered to conceal the crime.
Reports further said that the recovery of the body of the girl went like a wild fire and within no time hundred of local residents gathered and protested the police insensitivity. later when local police reached to take the
body for post-mortem examination, they attacked the cops and later also went on rampage damaging several vehicles.
The protesters were demanding action against the cops.
later the agitated public took the body and kept it on Khair By-pass and blocked the traffic movement. The matter further took an ugly turn when Circle Officer (City II) Arun Kumar reached with heavy police force. Instead of trying to resolved the issue through talks and convince the protesters to allow them to go ahead with legal proceedings, the cops opened lathi charge and not even spared the ladies. Sources said that even Circle Officer himself thrashed an old age woman was who was seriously injured in the procees. later SSP Amit Pathak, who was present on the spot sent the body of the girl for autopsy test and ordered to launch a hunt for the criminals. They also said to have detained about a dozen local residents in connection with violence.
