Rash and negligent driving led to death of five persons while two others were critically injured in lakhimpur Kheri on Monday morning. The driver, abandoned the vehicle after the mishap and escaped. A case has been registered and efforts were on to nab the accused.
Reports said that driver of a speeding a Alto Car (HR10H-9388) lost control over the vehicle and he went crushing two families sitting on the corner of road at Andeshnagar locality of Phoolbehad in Kheri on Monday morning. Matiya Devi (30), her 9-year-old daughter Ragini, and 6-year-old son Sonu, along with Phoolmati (35) and her 5-year-old daughter Priya, were crushed to death while Matiya Devi’s 4-year-old son Kanhaiya and 3-year-old Manhaiya, were critically injured and were still battling for their lives. All the five bodies were later sent for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile two persons were also killed in a separate mishap reported from Kheri, According to reports, two PICUP vans collided with each other at Mailani-Bheera Road on early Monday morning in which Ramesh (22) and Karan (30), both residents of Ramleela locality of Mailani, were killed while ten others including 2 females were critically injured. local police which visited the spot sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and admitted the injured in local district hospital. A case was also registered in this regard.
