The RSS will hold a 5-day long brainstorming session in Chitrakoot from July 9. The session is being considered politically significant in view of the UP Assembly elections due early next year. The top leadership of the RSS will attend the session.

The session will be attended by the entire RSS brass, including chief Mohan Bhagwat, general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, Manmohan Vaidya, Dr Krishna Gopal, Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Arun Kumar.

According to sources, the meeting will particularly see discussions for the Uttar Pradesh polls alongside the elections in four other states, including Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. The meeting will also be joined by senior national level pracharaks virtually.

In May, Hosabale visited Lucknow and met the BJP and RSS leaders. His report on the state of affairs in UP, the politically crucial state, is likely to be discussed in the meeting which is also likely to delve upon the Covid management by both Centre and UP government. The meeting will take place at a time when controversies over the land deals involving the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya have surfaced.

As per sources privy to the developments, the meeting will discuss the issues which are important in context with the UP polls, as internal BJP surveys are not painting a rosy picture for the saffron party in the state.
