n a shocking incident, a 4-year-old girl was gang-raped and later murdered in Farrukhabad. The police claimed to have arrested two accused, one of them a minor.
According to Superintendent of Police of Farrukhabad, Vikas Kumar, information was received about the rape and murder of a 4-year-old girl on Wednesday evening and a police team rushed to the spot for investigation. The field unit staff also visited the scene of crime and collected evidence.
The SP said that in a report lodged by the victim’s father, he expressed apprehension that the girl was raped before being murdered.
He said that a special forensic team was called from Kanpur Nagar and the samples collected by it had been handed over to the special forensic team and its report was awaited.
The SP said that on the basis of suspicion, the main accused, Shahid, and his minor associate were arrested and interrogated and both accepted their crime.
The SP said that the victim often used to go to the poultry farm of neighbour Shahid to play with the children. On Wednesday evening, when she went to the poultry farm, Shahid stopped her. Shahid, along with his minor accomplice, took the girl to the field in the neighbourhood where both of them raped and murdered her. They later hid the body in a field.
Meanwhile, a minor, held for raping a girl and lodged in a juvenile home, allegedly threatened the victim’s mother over phone that if they family did not withdraw the case, he would burn the girl’s face with acid.
The Paniyara police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the victim’s mother.
A woman of a village under Dharamsinghwa police station of Sant Kabir Nagar district filed a complaint to the police, alleging that a boy from a village under Paniyara police station of Maharajganj district had sexually molested her daughter. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused and sent him to the Child Protection Home in Gorakhpur.
It is alleged that the accused is calling and threatening the girl’s family on mobile phone every other day and asking them to change their statement or he would burn the face of the girl by throwing acid once he was out on bail.
Paniyara police station incharge Devendra Kumar Singh said that a case had been registered as per the complaint and the case was being investigated and necessary action would be taken in this regard.
