In a shocking incident, a 4-year-old child was shot dead in Agra on Saturday night.
Surprisingly, after the child disappeared from his house, the killer too had joined the family members in searching for him to misguide the police and the victim’s family. He also helped in the recovery of the child's body.
The accused, however, fell into the trap of police after the cops became suspicious about the manner in which he helped in recovery of the body. The police grilled him for a few hours after which he broke down and confessed to killing the boy.
The family members of the victim were shocked when they learnt that their own family friend was involved in the abduction and murder of the innocent boy.
However, the reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained though the police suspect the child was killed to appease some deity on the occasion of Dhanteras.
According to the information received here, at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Goldie alias Bittu, the 4-year-old son of Shambhu Nagar, a resident of Bablu Daksh, went missing while playing outside the house. When the family members did not see the child, they started searching for him. The police were also informed about his disappearance.
After this, the police shared the photo of the child in many groups. The family members of the child also started a search for him. In the meantime, Bunty, a resident of Nagla Rambal area of the district, reached the house and started looking for the child along with the family members. Bunty is close to the child's family.
During the search, Bunty informed the boy’s family members that he contacted one `Bhagat’ who informed him that the child was present in the Petha Nagari area of Kalindi Vihar. After this Bunty took everyone to the place along with the police and everyone was shocked to see the body of the missing boy lying there in a pool of blood.
Circumstantial evidence suggested that the boy was shot dead. A bullet injury mark was found on his chest. A pistol was also found lying at some distance from the body.
The cops immediately sent the body for autopsy. They, however, suspected that Bunty was sure of the body lying at a particular place so they inquired about the `Bhagat’ who informed him about the location of the boy. When Bunty refused to reveal any details of `Bhagat’, the suspicion of the cops grew and they took him into custody on Sunday morning. On being grilled, he confessed to killing the boy.
A case was registered and further investigations were on.
