With district police chiefs of Unnao, Sonebhadra and Kansganj testing Covid positive, the state government handed over the additional charge of these districts to three IPS officers. The officers will temporarily hold the post till their colleagues were fit to resume duty.
As per an official communiqué released on Thursday, Commandant of Special Security Force (SSF) Asheesh Tewari was given the aditioanl charge of SP Unnao in place of the ailing Suresh Rao A Kulkarni. Similarly, Commandant of 4th battalion of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) in Prayagraj, Sudha Singh was asked to take over charge of SP Sonebhadra temporarilu. The present police captain Amrendra Prasad Singh tested Corona positive recently.
Likewise, SP of Vigilance Establishment, Kunwar Anupam Singh has been asked to look after the charge of SP Kasganj inplace of Manoj Kumar Sonkar who was also afflicted by the deadly virus. Besides, SP of Mainpuri, Avinash Pandey was reported to be having symptoms of Corona infection. Official sources claimed that that 15 percent of the police personnel who were deputed to ensure a free and fair Panchayat poll have shown Corona symptoms on their return to their postings in respective districts.
