In a tragic incident reported from Kannauj, 3 children were killed and about a dozen others were seriously injured when the wall of a primary school gate collapsed over them in Talgram locality on Saturday morning. A case has been registered in this regard by the police and bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
Reports said that children of Primary School in Talgram were sitting along side the wall for their mid day meal when the road roller, involved in road construction work outside, hit it (wall) leading to its collapse on Saturday morning. About 15 children were buried under it. The school staff immediately rescued the children but still three of them, identified as Twinkle(10) studying in class 5, Vandana (11), studying in class 4, and and Janki (6), student of class 3 were killed while 10 others were seriously injured. They were admitted to a local hospital where the condition of one of them was stated to be critical. The driver of the road roller escaped from the spot. Efforts were now made to arrest him.
