The UP government penalised two Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers for their involvement in land scam, the charges against whom were upheld during the inquiry. The indicted officers were Tehsildar and were promoted to the PCS) and have now been reverted as Tehsildar and attached to the office of Chairman Board of Revenue, Lucknow.
Presently SDM in Prayagraj district, Ramjit Maurya allegedly committed irregularities in land records while being posted as Tehsildar in Mirzapur. Similarly, SDM Shravasti, JP Chauhan was found to be complicit in land related irregularities during his posting as Tehsildar in Pilibhit district. Both officers have now been reverted to the rank of Tehsildar.
