Mystery shrouds over death of a 25-year-old girl whose head-less body was found lying near a temple at Chauri-Chaura area in Gorakhpur on Thursday morning.
local police who rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy test claimed that circumstantial evidences suggested that the victim was gang-raped, and later brutally hacked to death somewhere else. The cops also claimed that the accused were known to the girl hence they not only killed her to conceal the crime, but also chopped off her head and dumped it somewhere else so that she could not be identified by the cops. The cops also claimed that the victim seems to be belonging to some Hindu family. A case has been registered in this regard and now all out efforts were made to identify the victim.
Reports said that someone passed-on the information that head-less body of a woman probably in her mid-twenties was lying near Tarkulwa Devi temple in Chauri-Chaura area of the Gorakhpur district on Thursday morning. The victim was brutally hacked to death somewhere else and later her body was dumped at the above spot. She was also seems to be sexually assaulted. Senior police officers who reached the spot claimed to be making efforts to establish the identity of the victim so they could move ahead to trace out the killers.
Meanwhile in Bagpat, a teenage girl was strangulated allegedly by two youths after the victim objected their sexual assault move in Khekhda area. Reports said that the 13-year-old girl was missing from her house since Wednesday afternoon. When the family members failed to search her out, they reported the matter to the local police but the cops refused to register any case and instead advise the family to search the victim on their own. However, later in the night some villager located the body of the girl lying in the forest area just adjacent to her native village.
later, after recovery of the body, the cops on the complaint of the family members, registered a case against Shakir and Imran, both 20 years old residing in the same locality. The cops later also conducted raids and arrested both the accused in the matter. During interrogation, they confessed to their crime and said that after failing to rape her, they strangulated the girl as they were afraid that she would narrate the incident to her family members and they had to face legal proceedings.
