Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated the industrialists and investors for taking Uttar Pradesh to second place in the Ease of Doing Business ranking, saying that without their help it would not have been possible.

“The ascendancy in the rank of EODB is testimony to UP Government’s resolve to fulfil the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’. Where UP has reached today it is only because of the guidance of the prime minister,” Yogi said in a statement here on Saturday.

Uttar Pradesh has achieved second position in the State Business Reform Action Plan-2019 Ease of doing business annual ranking released by the Union Commerce Ministry’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. Last year UP was at 12th position and this year it has jumped to second position.

“The state government is committed for the industrial development of the state and therefore has extended many benefits to the entrepreneurs at the local and national levels. The government has formulated many attractive policies making Uttar Pradesh as the most sought after destination for the entrepreneurs,” Yogi said.

He said the jump UP took in the EODB ranking shows that “we are moving in the right direction”.

“We are going to further streamline the working so that investors could benefit from the government policies. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade had suggested 187 reforms of which the Uttar Pradesh state has implemented 186,” he said.

“To make the working more competitive, the EODB system has been implemented at the district level making the process more competitive,” he said.
